Mr. Rene Argueta Jr. has always been known for lending a helping hand and he heightened this passion while working in the community and assisting individuals with their educational and personal needs. Mr. Argueta has dedicated over ten years supporting students of diverse backgrounds throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area. Mr. Argueta is especially passionate about education and ensuring that communities have the resources and support needed to pursue their educational goals. Before his current role at the Department of Education’s Office of Federal Student Aid, Rene was an Academic Coach and Financial Aid Outreach Counselor at Montgomery College and a Financial Aid Counselor at American University and Northern Virginia Community College. Throughout his work at these various institutions, he gained extensive experience empowering at-promise youth through counseling, coaching, mentoring and advising. Mr. Argueta earned his Bachelor of Science in Public and Community Health from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2010 and his Master of Science in Higher Education Leadership from Drexel University in 2018.
